This was a quick update to a single page site built with basic tools like HTML5 Boilerplate and an old version of jQuery.
The request was to add some content and a modal for a contact form. To be of service, I had to find a way to quickly make the changes as cleanly as possible.
Some things tripped me up, like discovering that jQuery was outdated and wondering how I could quickly load plugins and libraries without mucking around.
There were also stray files that weren't being used.
In the end, I kept as much as possible and focused on just making the requested changes. This may not be the most polished code, but nobody is complaining.
When the business grows and more marketing content is needed, we can revisit switching the technology.
I completed the project in 8 hours. My client said I was fast and knowledgeable, and better than upwork freenancers they worked with before.
